Is there no limit to what hacktv can do?

Perhaps I've missed something but is there any way to get a video signal into hacktv? As against it generatng a test pattern etc.

This has the same type of restrictions as the graphics card old television signal generation i.e. you can play any type of video content that you can store on a PC or stream from the PC. For those wanting direct standards conversion the missing element is video capture.

I bought one of the above and it works well recording the captured video to a directory of your choice in your PC. I don't know how to prevent it writing to memory but I just tried it writing to memory and with VLC player simultaneously reading from the same file location. My graphics card can then display the content in 405, 240, 180 or what have you.
