Hi All, after many years of trying unsuccessfully from near Glasgow to use WWV Colorado to accurately calibrate frequency, Ive found a much stronger signal source, RWM Moscow. RWM may be known to others but not to me. Let me explain my set up, Wellbrook loop on a rotator in a loft (no foil !)12 mtrs above grnd,Trio R5000, NRD535, 7mhz DC receiver tuned up to 10Mhz, Marconi TF2016A and a Racal 9919 counter with 5 Mhz ovened reference (10 yrs out of cal !). What Ive done so far is on the NRD535 set to CW with off set at 0 (in software), receive 9996 off air then send a weak 9996 from the sig gen with the counter looking at counter output of the gen. Zero beat the sig gen to the signal and the counter should show 9996.0000. At the moment the counter shows about 100 hz difference. That’s as far as I,ve got but the next step might be to adjust the Racal reference to show 9996.00000. I,m Just a bit wary of twiddling. Anyway has anyone heard of RWM Moscow?.
