I'd agree David with your reckoning. Even my minimalistic superheat with, ECH81 EF184 & EL95 has amazing sensitivity, the addition of a variable resistor in the cathode circuit of the EF184 anode bend detector allows you to resolve weak signals making it as good as any more modern 4 valve plus rectifier set.
