Hi.
Don't get me wrong I've had a good few diesels over the years but today with DPF's exhaust gas recirculation and other emission controlling devices they are far less reliable than diesels of say the 80's & 90's.
There has been a lot of research on petrol engines over the last few years and I think (I could be wrong) petrol engines could be the last vestige of the IC engine.
