That darn cat (not one of ours)

I got a large bottle of Eucalyptus oil which is recommended and seems to deter cats and other pests. I find it a bit problematic, as I try to keep as one with nature and have lots of birds, insects. toads and other creatures in the garden. One good reason to deter what is effectively a menace from the garden. Cats are Ok but the excuse that they cannot be trained is just that, an excuse. We once had a cat, when I was little, which was sick in the bath when we were out. I think it was trained enough to understand what to do.
