Hi Trevor, this may be of interest to you.
Gnu radio has an even steeper learning curve than some other SDR receivers but looks very versatile. I'll be having a new look at the Skywave distribution now its got better SDRPlay support. I've had a SDRPlay for a couple of years now but not used it extensivley.
