There's not really space on the diagram for the caps. If you think about the old luminance delay line in a colour TV, that used distributed capacitance and inductance. As did the delay cable used in many 'scopes. These BAL lines are lumped LC but the principle is the same. Co-ax cable is also distributed LC delay line but with minimum delay, as set by the dielectric. Lumped lines have a finite cutoff frequency equal to the reciprocal of the delay of one section. The response goes rough well before that frequency. Co-ax doesn't have a defined cutoff frequency but the useful maximum is usually set by dielectric losses. Or possibly by the braid no longer looking like a solid conductive tube.
In the end Faraday wanted to carry on using my designs. They were honourable people and made sure I didn't lose out too badly. Unlike some of the BAL directors who lost an enormous amount as they had invested a lot of their own money. ISTR it was all to do with BAL being sold to a compnay that failed, followed by a management buy-out that ultimately went wrong. Unfortuantely the good guys got stung, as well as the bad guys.
