Two Pye P123BQ transistor radios made in 1957 and 1958. The earlier version (first picture) has one pre-set long wave station and was originally tuned to 200Kc/s to receive the Droitwich transmitter. This set has three Newmarket transistors and three Mullard audio transistors. The 1958 version has full coverage of the long waveband. No Newmarket transistors in this set, all Mullard.
The famous PAM 710 was introduced in March 1956 which when you think about is only two years after the World's first all transistor radio, the American Regency RT1.
