Over time the screw could have made contact with the metal of the bracket as the paint was worn through, maybe!

No they are all wooden free standing and not attached to wall at all
Good gap between the shelving units and the wall. Photos will follow shortly.The Aerial wire in question is just over the back of the shelves. it comes out at one end to go to my work bench and out the other end to join to wire going into the loft.
There is nothing wrong with the Aerial in the loft as I get over 20MΩ between it and earth.
All very strange
