I have had a couple of those. The automated voice said that there were hackers from the USA breaking into the system and that the connection would be broken. It sounded realistic until the voice said ' If you are with BT press 1' then went on to say otherwise dial this number (I hung up at that point). It would convince a lot of people (as it is easy to press 1 without thinking), but was ridiculous as a genuine caller planning to cut off a connection should already know which provider the person being called was with.
