The 2CV & its derivatives were exceptionally reliable. The original version had friction dampers and just needed a simple adjustment twice a year, the other maintenance job was to grease the knife edges occasionally.
The Skoda 1000mb conversely had 13 grease points, do them a couple of times a year and the joints and kingpin would last a lifetime. Some of the ones I got to fix were suffering from wear due to never seeing a grease gun for many years.
