The OP wants to generate a waveform (presumably a sine wave) at around 400kHz. To get a decent looking waveform without some pretty strict filtering I would recommend a clock speed of at least 10x the highest output frequency. I am well aware of the Nyquist limit which says you can do it with 2x but as you approach that limit the filtering requirements rapidly become more critical.
