With the common 60Hz LCD displays the flicker is very uneven. This is more disturbing than the original 25Hz flicker. 25Hz would be incredibly horrible on a large, modern and bright CRT display. On a small and relatively dim pre-war set it was just about OK. On an LCD display it would be fine
