Many thanks indeed for your input, really appreciated. I agree the clip does sound sibilant but on my cloth ridden ears it sounds just right with a hint to top cut using the tone control.
The radio is brilliant and I'll look at the resistors more in depth when I've time.
Yes indeed I'm a fan and over the moon with the set that will be a permanent set in the spare room.
