You connect the signal source between the rail and the 1k resistor. Between points E and D, if you prefer.
But you have to think hard about grounded test gear.
The scope will be grounded - can't do much about that apart from taking a differential measurement - so let's hope that the signal source and power supply are both floating. The latter has to be, but if the oscillator is also grounded, then define point E as ground.
