Philips were most likely the best TRF radios ever built, the under chassis construction is literally awesome. The set tunes like a superhet with only one tuning knob, such is the detail of the tuned circuits, the tuning is pin sharp and even stations 9kHz apart have very little splatter. It is on par with my Dynatron tuner that is 20 years younger. The incredible thing is this set has only had one component replacement in 84 years bar a valve.
The front knobs are volume, tone, tuning, wave change and combined on/off gram.
