you are receiving Radio Caroline in Kilmarnock far better than here in Geordieland. The Philips 472 is an amazing set, sensitivity and selectivity as good as any superhet receiver.Even has AVC! Philips remained loyal to the TRF concept and without doubt produced excellent receivers but was the reason for adhering to TRF because the company was unwilling to pay royalties for the use of certain superheterodyne patent rights?
