A Seymour radio, another unusual set.

In 1942 the engineers would not have been demobbed, the original proprietor/s must of had some prior experience of electronics.
I have tried to date my set but can find nothing with a date on. It does not seem to be all surplus components but I can't imagine that they could obtain many parts until hostilities had ended and the factories ceased warwork.
Hard to understand that if loads of cheap surplus was available later why they would have gone under so soon, they must have sold a reasonable number of sets as there seems to be quite a few around and particularly console models would be the first to be dumped for a new set replacement in the '50s.
I could not understand the reasoning behind a move to the Scottish Borders as I said before.
