Interesting radio, there are a whole lot of RDF receivers on this page http://www.angelfire.com/space/proto57/rdf.html but I cant see your one there.
My own Seafarer International "Seafix 2000" has a frequency range of 191 to 423 kHz. What is the frequency range of your one.
My Seafix 2000 still works and has a very precise null to pinpoint the TX station. It has an 11 transistor circuit and includes a beet frequency oscillator to give a constant tone to help "DF" the transmission, then you switch to "Ident", to listen to the station identity signal. The top mounted compass is also very useful for taking sight bearings.
