Since posting the above, I have found that the 'line out' from my Ferguson FRG-R116D DAB/FM radio provides adequate signal to the Pioneer XC-L7 for the latter to reproduce the programme at a similar level to that from the internal FM/AM tuner, so it seem that the 200mV or so (@ ca. 850k) o/p from the RP33's pick up isn't high enough to drive the XC-L7 properly. I can either take a signal off the output of the RP33 |(it has a built-in stereo amplifier) which would be affected by the player's Balance, tone, & volume controls, or add a preamp.
