Honestly, please don't worry about it!
The use of technical acronyms on a technical forum are quite allowed. By all means qualify it if you fear it might be one of the less well-known ones, but we're all grown ups with an internet connection, and it takes virtually no effort to select the acronym in question and then do a right-click, followed by Search Google for ""
I was once chastised for using "NFF" in a thread where the context was completely clear. I was made to feel bad because someone didn't know an acronym that is actually very common in engineering parlance, and given that I was patently having a tough time with the problem under discussion, the lack of empathy wasn't exactly welcome (and came as a bit of a surprise, frankly).
In our rules we have asked that people try to avoid "TXT-SPEK", but there's absolutely no problem with technical acronyms, nor well-known "web acronyms" like "FYI", "AFAIK", "YMMV", etc
