Transistor radios made in Scotland

Probably not transistor related but Ekco had a factory at Farme Cross in Rutherglen. Apparently built during WW2 to be safer than southern England. I worked there as a contractor in the 90s (PA and intercoms), by then they were called Polywarm and made thermal wear and quilts. Possible connection there as Ekco made electric blankets in the 70s? The factory was demolished about 2005.
