The lot title was
'AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY VARIABLE RADIO COIL BY MUIRHEAD & CO. LTD, WESTMINSTER'
I bid online so was taking a bit of a punt but it looked interesting and I won the auction. When I went down to pick it up I was delighted to find the provenance of the coil printed on the label, and then the other bits, as they came of the shelves made me jump up and down with a big smile on my face
I already had a E.V. megger and the spark gap was described as a voltage demonstrator so I thought it was another part of a megger.
Good job I had a mate with me to pick this stuff up! We got some odd looks on the tube
I cant figure out how to open the case for the megger. There are some odd things, one each end that don't seem to open it as I would have thought.
