Thanks for the link - highly readable and very humorous!
Nice to see that you're a fellow Neil Hannon fan - ' Hannon the Canon' as he's sometimes known. He seems to have faded into obscurity, but his Divine Comedy 'Fin de Siecle' (end of the century) album must be one of the most under-rated ever. 'If your life is a mess, take the National Express it will make you smile'...so funny and true to life. 'Generation Sex' was masterful in alluding to the death of Diana, and the cynical world in which - on the one hand, her so-called 'fans' craved for Diana's privacy to be invaded by the papperazi - then when she died, were weeping and wailing and spending a fortune at florists on flowers that became litter within 24 hours: 'Hacks, in macs, with telephoto lenses, chase Mercedes Benzes through the night. Mourning nation weeps, and wails, but keeps the sales, of evil tabloids heathy, the poor protect the wealthy in this world...' Sums it up nicely - what a clever and insightful wordsmith.
Sorry to ramble right off topic, but I just had to mention your tagline!
Night night,
David
