I'm with Mark.
When I was a boy I wanted a scope but it wasn't till I worked with British Relay that I got to use one. My scope is on each and every time i'm in the shed and have to say it's the most useful tool you will ever have. Not only for learning and repairs it can also do many things from testing transformers, it can tell you if little transmitters you make are working properly to even showing TV pictures.
I'd be at a loss now without it.
