Before recapping it you really need to see if the transformer's OK. Run it with all secondaries disconnected. if it gets hot then it's had it. Unless the scope is of particular sentimental value it's not worth the cost of a rewind though you might be lucky enough to find a junked one of the same model with a good transformer.
