Yes I fully understand your feelings. To my mind the biggest problem is lack of knowledge by the general public and the charity shops that sell them. Radios and TV'S seem to be vulnerable to these sorts of modification.
I'm sure if the general public knew better then this may stop. At the moment it is just a lot of old tat to most folk.
P.S. I could do with the TV24 cabinet for my modified TV22.
