The AF11x transistors have been changed to 2N3906 according to the thread on UKVRRR.
I think at this stage I would zap the original AF11x transistors test them and refit. (I have found that zapping works in about 80% of cases, although it has been pointed out that it is probably a only a temporary fix.)
