Read discussions somewhere (Practical Wireless, Wireless World?) on whether pirates should have used the higher frequency part of the medium waveband i.e. 199 metres, or the lower frequency part i.e. 390 metres. The higher lot = more efficient aerial, & the lower lot = more range. Some of them i.e. 270 went about halfway so hoping to get the best & worst of both worlds. Must have been some head scratching trying to workout what wavelength to use. Noticed none of them used long wave, that would have been a push too far IMO...
