Web interface. That was the missing link in my understanding.
A plan:
1. Instal Vortexbox as a VM
2: Rip a few CDs to get used to the operation
3: Tweak tags from another PC (in practice the W7 machine that's hosting the VM)
At this point I should be adequately familar with Vortexbox.
Find/acquire/buy a PC on which to run Vortexbox properly. Arrange adequate storage either on that PC or NAS.
Get ripping!
And remember to back up the results at intervals. I'd feel a bit daft if all my carefully ripped music had to be redone.
Also:
Choose a replay device to work with my main hifi system.
Likewise to drive an AM modulator if I so wish "Radio Free Finchley"
Does Vortexbox do a good job for video too?
