Weren't they part of STC, and thus ITT at that time? They also shared factory space with Brimar...
FWIW, I was sponsored through university by ITT, and did my work experience at another subsidiary, STL (the research laboratory part of STC) in Harlow - the same place fiber optics were discovered and initially developed.
I worked there on digital exchanges and then designed part of the Doppler Microwave Landing System for Harrier jump-jets... as we couldn't afford a real Harrier, I learnt to drive by pretending to be one
