Not a 2000 but a typical Thorn/BRC tuner, the "gang rotator" if I remember has a slot or cut out at each end that fits over the rotor arms and is soldered to those arms at those points, needs a high watts soldering iron.
You might be able to fabricate one....it must be stiff!!
