The original question was meant to be, are TV's still available with an analogue tuner.
Reason, we run a signal from the SCART on the Virgin TIVO box through a SCART to RF converter upstairs to a TV in Sams room.
The advantage is that all the channels on the Virgin box are available to Sam and also shows that he has recorded on the Tivo system.
Disadvantage is we cant have one channel on downstairs and another upstairs, but this does not seem to bother him too much.
I have suggested that if he wanted to get a new TV (the remote on the old CRT one we bought him 15 years ago has packed up, it failed to work after the second time I glued the printed circuit back together and bridged the cracked copper) then he should do it now whilst it seems there maybe still some available.
So thanks for your help but I am leaving it upto Sam now.
