You once could get AV senders that would work ok so long as you didn't have thick walls. Problem now is a lot of TV'S don't come with scart or even AV inputs. You could go the whole hog and get a Digital modulator and have your own MUX but at around £200 for the cheapest it's not ideal.
You can get AV to HDMI converters from EBay and Amazon these work well and are under £20.
