I'm no fan of modern America. I think in the Fifties to end of Seventies it was a much better country. The investment in technology and education in the Sixties created a big difference. A lot of that technology came from German science which led from the V2 rocket to Apollo.
One more point, I noticed a modulator circuit was coupled to a class C voice amplifier with high HT going to the coupling transformer centre tap. Lo and behold, same thing happens on my German Saalburg transformer. I checked the voltages in the latter case. I recall Lawrence referred to that centre tap on my radio some months ago.
Push pull is a clever idea but I wouldn't yet be able to apply it to transistors.
