Terminology can cause a lot of ripple. Books have been published with simple spelling mistakes or careless maths blunders, and with dramatic effect. American terminology has also been misunderstood. One writer was savaged on Amazon. Part of the issue was he'd referred to positive bias on the grid and someo undergraduate electronics student thereby pointed out grid bias was always negative or zero. Late last night I found a AM modulation circuit where the grids were indeed driven into positive, even if AC. This is probably the thought behind the author's reference (some class B circuits).
