The 330k is original, and is shown in the circuit diagram. The cartrige is actually an X5H, not X5M as I stated earlier. Further listening tests suggest that either the original contact cooled rectifier is faulty, or the ECL86 develops a fault after about 20 -30 minutes. When first switched on the sound quality is as good as can be expected from such a circuit, but the hum develops with time, and is affected by the volume control setting, as might be expected, but is also affected by the Treble Control.
