The O/P transformer has a 5000pf red tubular ceramic cap. across the primary, Trevor. That, I guess could be suspect. At the moment the amp, O/P Transformer and speaker are on my bench for testing. There is nothing , apart from my AF Generator, connected to the input lead. The turntable is out of the player. I wanted to be certain that the amp. was working properly before refitting it in the cabinet, where it is almost inaccessible to instuments. As I said, there is no centre spigot in the valveholder, so I can't earth it! Guess I could cannibalise the spigot from the old valveholder if it will fit the new one.
