Checked the amp. again yesterday, all components & connections OK. Valve heater OK (Thank Goodness!), but , although 7v AC present at pins 4 & 5 of holder, valve isn't lighting up or drawing current, so next job is to check the valveholder, and check/clean the valve pins. Hopefully it's just bad contacts.
