Send Paul (Paul_RK) an email or PM. He put together most of the Hacker Yahoo groups over the years, along with Ian (Ian E G7OLT). I joined the team a while back and have done a fair bit of manual scanning for them, but I had nothing to do with the GAR500 manuals, so I'd feel more comfortable if you approached Paul.
In the meantime, it's worth trying to sort your Yahoo problems. I must admit that I had great difficulty signing in a few weeks back, but got there in the end with a bit of persistence. There's no denying that the (now not so) new "Neo" interface is a step backwards in every respect, but there's a lot of great information hidden away in those groups (not only the Hacker ones). I only hope the folk who own the various groups have a "Plan B" in place, as the consensus seems to be that Yahoo Groups can only get worse before eventually disappearing, sadly.
