Boats have become unrealistically technical. In the seventies you made a wooden panel and made holes for warning lamp, durite switch, ammeter and breakers. There would be a junction box and DC wires were colour coded. Today it's way too fancy and difficult for many boat owners to trace faults. On my boat I will make the panel by hand with all the MCB's and breakers. It will be simple and reliable. I am getting closer to fitting a water system but won't be using gas. Probably an electrical heater like a kettle or maybe a converted hot-hand wash unit.
