In the other wiki article it suggests that Corning's soda glass products weren't marketed in Europe. So it's a bit of a conjecture.
It's a long time since I did that CRT rebuild project so memory could be false. However I'm pretty sure Charlie said that all those 6/6 CRTs were borosilicate.
Haven't had the CRT out of my 702 so can't quite see if it has a separate faceplate.
