Ready readers are best from the pound shop. There are several types and I have found that ones with good arms have useless frames with lenses that fall out. There are others with plastic hinges and good lenses.
I took the frame and lenses from the plastic hinge type and with the arms complete with hinges cut from the crappy lens ones I solder the good arms onto the hinge pins of the good frames.
They last much better that way.
I bought one of those head magnifiers from the flea market. It has 5 pairs of lenses with different strengths and an LED lamp.
