Well I put the PS together and got 6.3V out – Perfect! These sets ran on 6V batteries so when fully charged they had about 6.8V
I connected the set up, then pulled the on switch (LT).
Unfortunately the voltage dropped below 1V and nothing happened. I am going to have to accept I am rubbish at this!
Talking to crackle on Friday it might be the heat sink is not up to the job. Anyway I put a Digimess power supply on the LT set at 6V and the set worked fine, drawing 1.177 amps.
I saw these on ebay '5W Zener Diode Voltage Regulator 6v'. is there a reason people use voltage regulators rather than these?
