Fun and games. The Speccy was the first 'Proper' computer that I had ( I also had a Nascom 1 that was really far more interesting for different reasons).
My abiding memory of the Speccy was the first time I programmed it while I was still living with my parents. The house had a 50p electricity slot meter, which didn't really seem to make any difference at the time, however........... the first time I entered a long program from the user book, using all of the extended function keys and stuff to the point of hitting Run, there was a 'Ding' and the 50p ran out !!
The last hours worth of work disappeared before I even had a chance to see any action - OUCH !!
Of course I had to enter the whole lot again, but I wasn't best pleased.
Them were the days, cassette recorders and all.
