Like most CAD companies, the 2D version of their paid-for 3D offerings is free.
This applies to the previously mentioned DraftSight offering from Dassault, as well as the one I mainly use, SolidEdge from Siemens...

I really like SolidEdge as a lot of what I do is parameter driven, i.e. you can put your key dimensions into variables (which can depend on other variables too) in a table and have the objects that reference them automatically sized in the drawing...
As usual, Autocad compatibility is a given...
