I remember reading somewhere (Practical Television?) that "standards conversion by pointing a TV camera at a TV screen often worked better than it had any right to!" I worked down a coal mine & they used to say "a bodge job that works is better than all the fancy stuff that doesn't!" & I've seen a good few bodge jobs down there, & they worked - till they didn't...
