This is one of the things I wanted to understand. How far can you "tune" a crystal from its fundamental frequency?
The ones I have bought, (not arrived as yet) are I believe identified with their frequency, and some are in the MW band of frequencies. (see info on link to Ebay in post 1)
My initial thoughts were, did it matter too much if the fundamental frequency was not a multiple of 9, so long as one was not using a synthesised tuner which has the channel separation fixed.
I have also heard you can use harmonics of the fundamental frequency.
