I have no evidence either way as to whether they are related to the US Tandy company which was, and still is, a supplier of leather materials and tools: https://www.tandyleather.com/en/ It was the parent compnay of the original Tnday electronics, a compnay that was subsequently sold and latterly closed down. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandy_Electronics
