I did find several dry joints around Q424, Q426, and a few other places, which I resoldered (Q424 is a 2SA 1837 & Q426 a 2SC4793, btw), they are parts of two Darlington pairs immediately preceding the o/p transistors. It may well be that the dry joints were the cause of the fault, which exsisted before I accidentally shorted the +ve & -ve supplies to the earlier stages when my test prod slipped, momentarily bridging the decoupling resistors in the supply rails, which are very close together on the PCB (I'm sure we've all done that sort of thing!). Regarding (a) posting links - I'm not sure how this is achieved -apologies I've I've been told in the past and forgotten, and (b) Current limited supplies, as they stand both of mine have only adjustable voltage, though I'm sure that they could be modified. In the meantime lamps or resistors in series with the built-in supplies are the way to go, no doubt.
